020.01 | CAT-AA | Architectural Acoustics

The discipline subjects are the basic principles of room acoustic, soundproofing and acoustic treatment of rooms, working spaces, etc. The aim of the course is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills for sound and principle for its distribution in the spaces, sound insulation and creating optimal acoustic conditions in working areas, halls, cinemas, etc.

020.02 | CAT-PBE | Problems of Building Envelope

The course aims to meet the basic aspects of modern development of the envelope with focus being on the latest energy efficient trends and the functional and aesthetic possibilities of the materials for the building envelope. Scope of course is the most current requirements for the building envelope, summarized in five main areas: energy – efficient and adaptable, glass and energy savings, power generator, new materials and new aesthetics, new uses for known materials.

020.03 | CAT-LMS | Light Membrane Structures

The course aims formation of knowledge about the particularities in light membrane structures. Introduction with the basic European standards, best practices and European regulations for design of light membrane structures. Demonstration and introduction students with the latest software architecture and engineering programs for work with architectural membrane structures.

020.04 | CAT-CD-SB | Concept Design – storey building

The course project for storey building consists in the development of architectural design for a small storey building (up to 4 stories) with repetitive rhythmic structure. The assignment required to design a building in a real situation with urban set parameters, to design its function and structure and create appropriate architectural image. The aim of the project is to involve the student to understand how to choose the right structure solution and to make the relation between function and spatial vision and building structure.

Theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of 3D visualization program. Building 3D models of buildings on Work and Concept designs. Programs application for finalization of 3D images.

Semester II:

020.06 | CAT-AL | Architectural Lighting

The subjects of Architectural Lighting are: the light, the main types of artificial light sources and lighting systems, the interior and exterior lighting of the building. The aim of the course is to provide theoretical knowledge and practical skills for light and basic concepts of artificial lighting and proper use of lighting various types of architectural spaces; recognizing and predicting light situations, causing discomfort, creating specific perceptions.

020.07 | CAT-CAAT | Contemporary Aspects of Architectural Technology

The course aims acquisition of knowledge about development of modern architectural-structural systems, technologies and details. The course is divided into main topics presented by leading companies in the field:
• Aspects of the facade envelope;
• Integrated light curtain walling;
• Facade envelope – metal, ceramic, glass and more;
• Roof covers – flat and slope roofs;
• Green roofs – flat and sloped;
• Specific flooring solutions;
• Suspended ceilings – Mineral wool, boards from plasterboard, liner;
• Contemporary interior partitions;
• Precast constructions – floors, walls, ceilings, roofs.

020.08 | CAT-ASAB | Architectural-Structural Analysis of Buildings

Architectural-Structural analysis of buildings is a build on discipline, which regarded the relationship between architectural space, architectural construction and architectural form. This discipline has expressed theoretical analytical nature based on the full range of practical knowledge gained in basic training in the disciplines Building Construction and Architectural Structures. Architectural-Structural analysis of the buildings creates a methodology for analyzing successfully completed tectonic architectural forms and answer the question: what is tectonic architectural form?

020.09 | CAT-CD-HB | Concept Design – hall building (medium and large span buildings)

The course project involves the development of architectural design for small hall building (medium and large span buildings). The project requires designing a building in a real site plan, with urban set parameters, to design its function and structure and create appropriate architectural image. The project aims to create a tectonic image, where the structure is a main part of the spatial design of the building.

020.10 | CAT-AD-TD-SB | Architectural Detail – technical design – storey building

The project is being developed in the technical phase with fragments, details and specific architectural and design solutions in parts of the building, designed in the Concept Design during semester I.
